PLUMMER — It was a tall task for the Clark Fork boys basketball team on Tuesday night.
They faced Lakeside, the defending 1A Division II state champions, and the Knights sailed to a 91-35 win.
The Wampus Cats trailed 45-19 at the half and Lakeside scored 31 points in the third quarter.
Head coach Heath Beason said his team committed 28 turnovers in the game and missed too many open shots.
"Can't play good teams and expect to win with that many mistakes," he said. "Offense looked good, press break looked good, but defense and turnovers got us."
Carter Sanroman scored 10 points, Cameron Garcia and Sam Barnett each had 8 and Cole Reuter added 7.
Beason said his squad needs to put this game behind and move on to the next.
The Wampus Cats (0-2) play the Post Falls freshman team at 7 p.m. tonight.
