YMCA announces $10M gift from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott

YMCA of the Inland Northwest learned Tuesday afternoon they had been selected by philanthropist Mackenzie Scott as one of 384 organizations picked to receive funds as part of a pledge to help those who are most vulnerable in the country.
The YMCA will receive $10 million, organization officials announced Tuesday in a press release, adding the gift is in recognition of the transformational work the YMCA does in the Spokane and Sandpoint communities,
"Plans for the use of this gift will be determined through thoughtful and thorough review of the YMCA’s needs and goals for our communities," they said in the release.
