POST FALLS — Police arrested a man who they said led them on a chase.
Jesse D. Cline, 41, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a felony.
Police said Cline was leaving “a known drug house” in Post Falls last Thursday morning when he failed to complete a stop at an intersection.
When police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Cline allegedly sped up. Police said they pursued Cline’s truck, a silver Chevy Silverado, at speeds of up to 55 mph in a residential area before the truck eventually stopped.
After Cline exited the truck, police detained him in handcuffs.
Police said a plastic bag containing 27 grams of meth was sitting in plain view on the driver’s seat.
In Idaho, possessing between 28 and 200 grams of meth is considered trafficking, a felony punishable by a minimum of three years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Police arrested Cline at the scene.
Judge Timothy Van Valin ordered Friday that Cline, who was reportedly on parole from a 2013 case, be held on $150,000 bail.
