The Coeur d’Alene Vehicle Licensing Office and the downtown Assessor’s Office are officially open for walk-in and pre-scheduled appointments after a brief closure due to COVID-19 exposure.

Both the Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls Vehicle Licensing are open with regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Customers can use the QLess app to set up an appointment 45 days in advance, and walk-in customers are welcome to fill schedule gaps, an Assessor’s Office press release said.

Walk-in customers will need to sign in at the office kiosk to reserve a time slot.

“Customers are asked to please refrain from crowding the indoor waiting area when arriving at the office,” the release said. “When significant staff time is necessary to monitor capacity and sanitize over-crowded areas, it affects the number of customers we are able to serve.”

The Kootenai County Assessor’s Office on Garden Avenue will re-open with all services Thursday, Christmas Eve. To maintain safety protocols, office capacity permits only four customers at a time.

“The Assessor’s Office would like to thank the public for their understanding and patience as staff has strived to continue providing service during this closure event,” the release said.
