MOSES LAKE — Locally, there are at least three ways to dispose of Christmas trees.

The Grant County landfill was back open Wednesday after a brief closure due to a fire hazard. Trees can be taken there or to the transfer station off Road 7 in Moses Lake. The minimum standard disposal fee still applies.

Lakeside Disposal & Recycling, 2000 W. Broadway Ave., Moses Lake, has a dropbox available for customers to dispose of their Christmas trees.

A third way to dispose of a tree will be at the Moses Lake Sand Scorpions’ Christmas Tree Burn at the Moses Lake sand dunes beginning at noon on New Year’s Day. The event will be at the first pit after the sand dunes entrance at Potato Hill Road.
