FBCS accepting new student applications
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 5 years, 10 months AGO
Forrest M. Bird Charter School officials have announced they are now taking applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Each year the charter school opens a window of new student enrollment for the upcoming school year. This year the window opened Feb. 1 and concludes March 19 at 3 p.m.
With FBCS’s project based learning philosophy and small classroom sizes, students show their mastery of concepts through hands-on activities, FBCS administrator Mary Jensen said.
As a tuition-free public charter school, FBCS does not discriminate against any student who would like to apply; however, the school is limited in the number of students who may attend. If more applicants apply than available seats in a given grade, then every student who has applied is entered into a lottery. The lottery will be held March 19, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. for the applicants.
There are 11 openings in the high school, two openings in the eighth grade, 16 openings in the seventh grade and 20 openings in the sixth grade.
For more information call FBCS middle school at 208-255-7771 or FBCS high school at 208-265-9737. Applications can obtained at either building or online at forrestbirdcharterschool.org.
Families are also welcome to call to set up a tour.
