This February, let America's heroes be your valentine.
Let's Elope CDA co-owners Marissa Mitchell and Tiffany James are happy to help.
"Love is what we do," said Mitchell. "We want to gather as many pieces of hope as we can for our veterans to impact the community positively."
The duo is partnering with Woops! bake shop to host Valentines for Veterans, a free, all-ages event to gather community members together as they use their hearts and imaginations to craft special valentines for military veterans. The valentines will be hand-delivered on or just before Valentine’s Day to vets in the Department of Veterans Affairs, North Idaho Community-Based Outpatient Clinic.
Let's elope will provide colored paper, glitter, envelopes and all the crafting goodies to create colorful valentines to brighten a disabled, sick or injured veteran's day. People are also welcome to make their own at home and drop them off for delivery. A special decorated mailbox will be on site to collect the completed valentines.
"Why not come in and color and do something sweet?" Mitchell said.
Valentines for Veterans will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Woops! at 119 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene.
