Notable calls of the day!

- Deputies assisted in arranging a DNA sample to be taken for the Alaska State Patrol. They requested DNA be collected from the son of a fisherman who went missing when the fishing boat he was on sank in January.

- A Deputy had a vehicle towed from Hwy 95 near Presley Rd. The vehicle was an old Ford pick-up with Washington plates that expired in 2018. The truck was towing a new log splitter that had a high likelihood of being stolen, but came back clear NCIC.

- Deputies took a report for a stolen check being cashed at the Numerica Credit Union in Hayden. Good photos provided of the suspect and a video forthcoming.

- KCSO took several reports during the shift. Auto burglary report from an unlocked car on Telluride in Hayden. A theft report where a person posing as customer support for Apple, hacked a phone while talking to the victim, and walked the victim through several “service” steps. Ultimately, the “customer service” agent accessed the victim’s bank account and stole over $1400.00. There was also a theft of a generator from the vehicle storage yard at N. Government Way.

- Deputies contacted a male at the Prairie Transfer Station regarding the recovery of a stolen trailer at the dump. After investigation, it appears the male may have found the trailer and wanted it for himself, so he tried to report it stolen. FI completed.

- A contractor’s work trailer was broken into at N. Government Way and several items were taken.

- A Deputy contacted three individuals at the eastbound Huetter Rest Area. A female was arrested for her FTA felony drugs warrant out of Lewiston and a burglary warrant out of Nevada and possession of drug paraphernalia. Marijuana and more paraphernalia were located in the car. In addition, U.S. Passports and Identifications were located in the car that do not belong to anyone in the car. Investigation ongoing.

- Deputies responded to Hauser Lake for a report of a family dispute. It was reported that a female was on scene acting out and hitting others on scene. Upon arrival Deputies spoke with the family and learned that the female was feeling unappreciated and pushed her sister and hit her handicapped aunt. Despite attempts to fix the fractured family, the mother wanted the female arrested, and it was obvious that the issue was going to continue. Deputies arrested the female for battery. 20-04510

- While patrolling the Worley area, Deputies located several suspicious people in the area of the dumpsters and walking from the casino. One of the females was upset and walking from the casino to Spirit Lake in 16* weather after her boyfriend left to get drugs. Deputies provided her a courtesy transport back to the casino.

- Deputies assisted CDATPD Off. on a stop in the area of HWY 95 X HWY 58. During the traffic stop, both parties were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Marijuana, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia were all located, as well as a myriad of pills that were still being identified.

- Deputies responded to Reeves St. for a call of a suspicious. Deputies were searching the area after a citizen heard a door of a vehicle open outside their residence and received a call around the same time from an unknown person.

- Several Deputies responded to the boat shop at the intersection of Government Way X Wilber Ave. after a passerby reported observing feet and legs only under a few of the boats as if they were being burglarized. Deputies were able to respond in coordinated manner and secure a perimeter within minutes. At the completion of the investigation, it would appear that the local deer population was thinking about spring boating.
