MOSES LAKE — Big Bend women’s basketball fell at home on Wednesday night to North Idaho, 64-41.

The Vikings stayed close after the first quarter, down just four at 16-12. The Cardinals pulled away a bit in the second quarter, taking a double-digit lead they wouldn’t relent the rest of the game. North Idaho took a 36-19 edge into the locker room at the half.

The third quarter looked a lot like the first, with the Cardinals outscoring Big Bend by just two in the quarter, leading 53-34 going into the fourth. Big Bend were unable to chip away much at that 19-point deficit as North Idaho held on for the win on the road.

Maelyn Mace led Big Bend with 13 points in the loss. Anna Yarbro came up just shy of the double-double as she finished with nine points and 10 boards. Savana Stephenson finished in double figures as well with 10.

Next up for the women’s team will be a home game against Yakima Valley this Saturday at 2 p.m.
