PRIEST RIVER — A man wanted in connection with a Tuesday shooting in Spokane was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after he was located at a Bonner County home.

Trey Scott Galloway, 19, was ordered held on a fugitive from justice charge in Bonner County Jail, during a hearing in First District Court on Wednesday. He will be extradited back to Spokane, where he faces two first-degree assault charges in connection to a shooting inside an apartment near Sacred Heart Medical Center.

According to a Spokane Police Department press release, Galloway was determined to be a suspect in the shooting at the apartment complex at 500 S. Division St. and was tracked to Priest River.

An SPD Major Crimes Detective was able to establish a suspect for Tuesday’s shooting of two victims, which was not specified by SPD officials. SPD’s Patrol Anti-Crime Team, Special Investigative Unit and K-9, the United States Marshals Service with assistance from the Priest River Police Department and Bonner County Sheriff’s Office located Galloway, and a vehicle at a residence in Priest River.

A search of the Idaho location did not recover any evidence, Spokane officials said. However, a suspect vehicle was seized pending a search warrant and a second search warrant was sought for a Spokane residence in the area of 1600 W. Mission Ave.

Priest River Police Chief Drew McLain said the arrest was quick and officers were able to take Galloway into custody without incident shortly after 1 a.m. as he exited the home.

The individual who owns the home where Galloway was taken into custody, described by McLain as the relative of a friend, was unaware of Galloway’s alleged involvement in the Spokane shooting.

Police responded to the site Tuesday after receiving a 911 call at 4:21 p.m. from a person inside an apartment at the facility who reported he and another person had been shot at while inside the apartment.

Officers arrived on scene and located two males, with obvious injuries, inside the apartment, Spokane police said in the press release. The officers began first aid/lifesaving treatment to both subjects. Medical care was transferred to the Spokane Fire Department and AMR.

Both injured people were transported to an area hospital.

The scene was secured and the investigation was taken over by detectives from the Major Crimes Unit.
