The Libby Area Chamber of Commerce plans to print 20,000 copies of a visitors guide in March promoting the region to people considering a visit or relocation.
A $4,833 grant from the Montana Department of Commerce will help pay for the guide’s creation and printing. In addition, five regional entities or organizations have chipped in funds to support the effort and a revision and reprinting in two years.
They include the chamber, Lincoln County, Glacier Bank and the Cabinet Peaks Medical Center and Cabinet Peaks Medical Clinic.
The 12-page guide will be capable of being folded to fit in a rack of tourism brochures.
Myranda Cravens, general manager of the Libby chamber, said the guides will be mailed to people who inquire about visiting or living in the Libby area. And the guides will be distributed to places that have consistently been a source of visitors to Libby.
Keokee media and marketing of Sandpoint is putting the guide together.
Cravens said some of the photography selected for the guide was donated by regional photographers.
