1939 — 2020

Jo Ann Stewart, of Coeur d’Alene, went home to be with her Lord on Feb. 3, 2020, after battling cancer, at the age of 80. Jo Ann was born to Ersie Norleen (Jeffers) and Everett Lewis Armstrong at her grandmother’s house in Bunkerhill, Ind., on Aug. 11, 1939.

Jo Ann was raised in Greentown, Ind., where she met the love of her life through their mutual best friends. She married Clarence Paul “C.P.” Stewart Jr. on Sept. 26,1957. To their union four children were born. They spent the next 49 years together until his death in 2006.

Jo Ann was an avid gardener and loved being outside, spending time with her Lord and tending to her fish pond. In her later years she thoroughly enjoyed woodworking and made several beautiful pieces.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by both her parents; one sister, Lois Bowen; her husband, C.P. and her son-in-law, Wendall Cooper.

She is survived by her children Diana Lyn (Jeff) Richards of Craig, Colo.; Cindy Lou Cooper of Coeur d’Alene; Mike Lee (Karol) Stewart of Billings, Mont. and Tamara Kay (Tim) Moore of Roundup, Mont.; one sister, Nellie Jane McClain of Kokomo, Ind.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
