Gonzaga runs past Pacific

Jill Townsend scored 17 points, Jenn Wirth had a double-double and No. 11 Gonzaga pulled away in the second half on Thursday night in Stockton, Calif., to defeat Pacific 83-65 for its 21st straight victory.
The Bulldogs, who have their highest ranking ever and are two wins shy of matching the 2004-05 team for the longest winning streak, outscored the Tigers (13-10, 6-6 West Coast Conference) 41-27 in the second half.
Melody Kempton, a sophomore from Post Falls High, had eight points and two assists for Gonzaga (23-1, 12-0), which travels to Saint Mary’s on Saturday.
Montana State 62, Idaho 56: At Moscow, Gina Marxen scored a game-high 20 points to go along with five assists, two rebounds and one steal for the Vandals (13-7, 8-3 Big Sky), but the Bobcats (14-6, 10-1) scored six of the final eight points in the game over the last 2:47 of the fourth quarter to get the win in front of 638 at Cowan Spectrum.
Allison Kirby, a junior from Timberlake High, had five points and three rebounds for Idaho.
Montana 77, Eastern Washington 56: At Cheney, Kennedy Dickie had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles (2-18, 1-10 Big Sky) in a loss to the Grizzlies (12-9, 7-5) in front of 3,106 at Reese Court.
McKenzie Johnston had 22 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for Montana.
Eastern Washington travels to Montana State on Saturday.
