COEUR d’ALENE — A district title is within the Lady Cats grasp.
With a dominant 47-22 win over Genesis Prep on Tuesday night in a 1A Division II District 1 semifinal game, Clark Fork has advanced to title game against No. 1 Lakeside.
Now all the Lady Cats have to do is beat the Knights two times in a row to prevent Lakeside from going to state and punch their ticket instead,
A tough task but if any team can do it, this one can.
Against Genesis Prep, Clark Fork was in control from start to finish. The Lady Cats stormed out to a 28-11 halftime thanks to 19 first-half points from senior Sara Hathaway, who was feeling it from outside.
“Hathaway was at home with her perimeter shot tonight,” head coach Jordan Adams wrote in a text.
Hathaway finished with 23 points, 13 steals and seven rebounds.
Senior Ellie Kiebert struggled on offense only scoring 8 points, but Adams said she made her presence felt in other areas notching eight rebounds and six steals.
Sophomore Caiya Yanik tallied 11 points and sophomore Katelyn Matteson and freshman Emily Myers each had eight rebounds.
Clark Fork (10-10) will take on Lakeside 7:30 p.m. Thursday at North Idaho College.
