WARDEN — The Cougars came back to win their second-straight game on Friday after trailing by two at the half to force the playoff-tiebreaker on Saturday against the Warriors 67-59.
Kaden Skone led the Cougars with 26 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Ryan Skone had a career-high 12 points as well in the win. Warden head coach Wes Richins said Ayzaiah Pruneda led the team defensively, and simply “did some great things” for the Cougars on the court.

WARDEN — Wahluke held off a late run by the Cougars to grab the final spot in the postseason from the SCAC East 60-56.
Leading by nearly double-digits most of the way, the Warrior lead was trimmed to two with 30 seconds left. The Cougars managed to get the turnover and have a chance to tie the game, but couldn’t find the bottom of the net on a six-footer as the Warriors hit eight free throws in the final half-minute to secure the win. Dreyton Martinez led Warden with 18 points, while Kaden Skone nabbed the double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Warden head coach Wes Richins said he was proud of his team’s fight to find a way to be in contention for the final playoff spot, but “fell just a bit short.”
Wahluke plays its first postseason game against Zillah Tuesday night after The Sun Tribune’s deadline.
