Supports Powers

I was dismayed when I heard that Zac Perry had resigned as Representative of House District 3. However, I am very pleased that we have a good replacement in Debo Powers. I enjoyed reading Representative Powers’ column in the Hungry Horse News on Legislative Week. I hope that she will continue to write columns during the legislative session next year to keep us informed about what is happening. In order to do that, she will need to win election to that seat this year.

We could not have a harder worker in the legislature than Debo Powers. Not only was she a high school U.S. history and government teacher and a K-8th grade Principal, but she has been a leader in our North Fork community. In the past, she has served as the president of the North Fork Landowners Association and president of the North Fork Preservation Association. She has led hikes and garden tours and has taught Country Western dance classes at the North Fork Community Hall. In summers, she volunteers as a fire lookout on Cyclone Lookout near Polebridge.

Debo Powers is someone who will study the issues and read the bills that come before the legislature before she votes on them. She will think about how those bills will affect her constituents. She will support our way of life and the public lands that sustain us and drive our economy. I am pleased that Debo Powers is our Representative in House District 3.
