Adult hockey tournament begins

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Freeze Hockey Tournament begins today at 5:30 p.m. at the Moses Lake Ice Rink.

The Moses Lake Goons face Ellensburg Ironhorse in the tournament’s opening game, with match-ups running until 11:30 p.m. on Friday. The tournament resumes at 8 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

“There’s 10 teams, which is the largest hockey tournament Moses Lake has ever had in the 13 years that we’ve had our ice rink,” said Tom Los, a recreation supervisor with the City of Moses Lake’s Parks and Recreation Department, in a press release.

The intermediate division is comprised of more skilled players, while bronze has B to C level players, the press release explained. A beer garden will also be available Friday and Saturday night.

CHENEY – Eastern fell in straight sets to Sacramento State on Wednesday night, according to a statement from EWU athletics. The Eagles were led by Kalista Lukovich and Alyssa Radke with seven kills apiece, while Elle Bruegman anchored the defense with 14 digs. Eastern also continued to showcase one of its season-long strengths at the net, out-blocking the Hornets 9–3 with seven solo blocks.
