RATHDRUM — The Badger Cheerleading team competed in the Prairie Classic Competition on Feb. 1, at Lakeland High School.

The small BFHS Competition Team, comprised of Katie Summerfield, Ember Allred, Bella Sims, Neveah Elliston and Hailey Kelsey, took first place in the 3A Pom Routine and 3A All Girl Stunt Routine, and placed second in 3A Sideline Cheer.

A total of 17 teams attended the competition, and the Badgers were the smallest team.

“With only five cheerleaders, we’re able to place above other teams with up to 24 cheerleaders,” said coach Andria Hedrick. “Although it can be intimidating, our team smiles and cheers above all difficulties.”

Next competitions:

River City Rally, Feb. 15, at Post Falls High School.

District II State Qualifier, Feb. 29, at Lakeland High School.

Idaho State Cheer Competition: March 20, at the Idaho Ford Center in Nampa.
