WENATCHEE, Wash — Marcus Austin hit a pair of free throws with eight seconds remaining as North Idaho College held off the Wenatchee Valley Knights 79-78 in a Northwest Athletic Conference game on Wednesday night.

Sophomore Nate Pryor scored 19 points for NIC (24-1, 12-0 NWAC), which finished the game 26 of 71 from the field.

Chance Michels hit a 3-pointer as time expired for Wenatchee Valley (20-5, 8-4), which is third in the East Region.

NIC travels to Blue Mountain on Saturday.

WENATCHEE, Wash. — The visiting Cardinals (13-10, 7-5 NWAC) finished the night 1 for 21 from the 3-point line in a loss to the Knights (18-7, 9-3).

NIC, which is fourth in the East Region, leads Treasure Valley by two games for the final playoff spot with four games remaining.

The top four teams advance to the NWAC Championships starting March 5 at Everett Community College.

Wenatchee Valley is third in the region.
