Fun times with your Valentines this weekend

Valentine’s Day weekend is a great time to get out on the town, take in some live entertainment, dine in style or put on your dancing shoes. Almost every eatery in the Flathead is offering sumptuous dinner specials and there are plenty of special events posted to get you out and about with friends, family or that special sweetheart. Here’s a few ideas for sharing some good times with your Valentines.

TODAY, FEB. 13

- Fresh Life Church is hosting “Date Your Mate And Let Your Child Be Wild” date night both today and Friday, Feb. 14, from 6 to 10 p.m. Take advantage of free childcare while you take an evening to relax, recharge and reconnect. They’ll take care of dinner for your kids, providing pizza, snacks, water and juice (If your children have a restrictive diet, send them with food that will work for them). - Salish Kootenai College Forestry & Natural Resources Club in Pablo is having a Valentine’s Day Bake Sale starting at 10 a.m. — a perfect place to pick up some treats for your sweetheart.

Galentine’s Day parties galore

Here’s a rundown of all the spots in town; Grab your gal pals, a glass of champagne, a bit of chocolate and go shopping.

- The Nest, Whitefish, 4 p.m. Games, makeup artist, beauty tips

- The Montana Scene, Kalispell, 5 p.m. Champagne, chocolate.

- MontaVino Winery, Kalispell, 5 p.m. Psychic readings, quick chair massages, a little reflexology and, of course, a little wine.

- Unleashed: A Winery, Whitefish, 5 p.m. Live music by Cara Alboucq from 6 to 9 p.m. and free pizza

- LuLaRoe Sara Hammel, Whitefish, 7 p.m. Fast-paced party with prizes.

- Race over to the Tailing Loop Winery for an evening of speed dating starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be comedic activities, boozy prizes, and a complimentary charcuterie spread. Your first glass of wine is on the house. The event will last about three hours and is $10 per person; pre-registration is required.

- The Center for Restorative Youth Justice hosts a fundraiser special event titled “(Not Your Average) Love Story!” from 6 to 9 p.m. at Casey’s in Whitefish. This will be a daring night of truth telling. The curated storytellers include parents, teachers, probation officers, program alumni and youth. The evening includes appetizers, drinks, music, raffles and interactive stations to raise funds for the nonprofit’s mission to empower youth and strengthen community. FRIDAY, FEB. 14

- The Galentine’s Day champagne celebration gets started at 9 a.m. at Kettle Care in Kalispell. Champagne and chocolate will be served all day.

- Born to be wild? Take a Valentine’s Sweetheart Ride with Northwest Montana Adventures/Winter Wonderland Sports in Olney. Take your someone special out for a two-hour guided snowmobile tour beginning at 1 p.m. through the beautiful Montana Scenery to an exclusive yurt for some chocolate and snacks. Book your tour by calling 406-881-2525.

- Put a little swing in your step. North End Swing is hosting a Valentine’s Day social dance at 7 p.m. in the Sassafras Ballroom, 120 Main St., in downtown Kalispell. Enter through the alley in back. The cost is $10 per person, which includes a basic lesson from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

- Ronan High School students are putting on their Big Show at 7 p.m. at the Ronan Performing Arts Center featuring singing, dancing, instrumentals, comedy, drama sketches and more.

A baked potato dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. for $5. Show tickets are $3 in advance, and $5 at the door.

- Perfect Shot Tavern in Polson is putting on an Anti-Valentine’s Day party with DJs Brandon & Betsy starting at 9 p.m.

SATURDAY, FEB. 15

- The Flathead Snowmobile Association is revving up for its Sweetheart Ride 2020 at 8 a.m.

The Snowmobile fun run and raffle features coffee, hot chocolate and donuts in the morning and hamburgers, hot dogs and non-alcoholic beverages at lunchtime. Win great stuff, have a good time and support your local search and rescue; snowmobiles and gear not provided, some experience is required.

- Smooch Your Pooch at Dee-O-Gee in Kalispell. Bring your pup to the party for a shot at the pooch photo booth, bubbly and sweet treats for you and free cookies for your pup.

- Bring your little princess to High Tea with Cinderella at Flathead Lake Bible Camp. Enjoy an arrangement of food, drink, and activities for the whole family. Activities include crafts, games, photo opportunities, sing-a-longs and autographs. Meet the special princess guests and create memories that will last a lifetime. Tickets are $10. RSVP by emailing info@flbc.net or calling 406-752-6602. This event is recommended for families with younger children.

- The Wave in Whitefish hosts a Parent’s Night Out XOXO party from 6:30-9:30 p.m. For members and non-members, the cost is $10 for any child 8 and older. For children 7 and under, it is $25 for the first child, $20 for the second child, and $15 for the third child and includes pizza and juice, games in the gym, crafts swimming (age 5) and face painting. Reservations are required.

- The Tailing Loop Winery in Kalispell hosts a Heartbreak Party from 7 to 9:30 p.m.-ish with live music by Colton Sea who will be singing his favorite love and heartbreak-themed songs. And, if that’s not enough, there’ll be s’mores and hot dogs.

- The Valley Club in Ronan is throwing a “Lonely Hearts” party at 8 p.m. There will be a DJ, giveaways and games to mend your broken heart.
