The 42nd annual Cabin Fever Days and World Famous Barstool Ski Races come to the canyon Feb. 14, 15 and 16.

The local festival continues to grow, celebrating 42 years of fun and fundraising for the Hungry Horse Canyon communities, sponsored by the Trapline Association.

There are many different events taking place at multiple locations throughout the communities of Hungry Horse, Martin City and Coram. Martin City is the location of the World Famous Barstool Ski Races, where you can find vendors, kids’ events, snowshoe softball, the “Jail” and more. Canyon bar venues feature their own signature events throughout the weekend, easily accessed with the shuttle, which runs Saturday and Sunday.

New this year, the stakes have risen for Barstool Ski Racing. Glacier Distilling Company has pitched in to double race prizes for all classes. This means the rider and pusher in each class will now both receive $200. Also, this will be the last year for same-day race registration, as event organizers need to adapt to best practices of major racing events. If you’ve never built a barstool racing sled, this is the time to throw your hat into the ring. Pre-registration gives race officials time to prepare and setup for optimum competition. Starting in 2021, all prospective racers will need to pre-register on the website.

Sugar Hill will be professionally groomed to provide top-notch racing conditions for the Barstool Ski Races. Live racing results will be available online during the event so spectators can stay connected to the action, while enjoying myriad of events happening all over the Canyon. Contribute to the event and have fun by entering the Barstool Ski Races in Martin City, or try out other competitions at various Canyon bar venues. Racer and sled regulations can be found at www.cabinfeverdays.com.

The Trapline Association exists to put on the regionally-renowned weekend long event, Cabin Fever Days, the second weekend of each February. Proceeds from the event benefit the Martin City Volunteer Fire Department, Canyon Quick Response Unit and more events and causes which improve the community for residents and visitors alike.
