SANDPOINT — From chocolate bars to singing telegrams, some sweet fundraisers will help Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2453 help local veterans in need.
In addition to custom-made chocolate bars for sale at local businesses, Tanya Anderson of First American Title will deliver a song of love along with a custom made bar of chocolate to your loved one for $10 today, Valentine’s Day.
Call Tanya at 208-627-5617 to schedule a Valentine’s Day gift.
The handmade bean-to-bar confections, made from organic cacao from the Dominican Republic, are etched with the slogan “Freedom is Sweet.” They can be purchased through Feb. 21 at First American Title Co., Trinity at City Beach, UPS Store, Matchwood Brewing, Alpine Motors and the Ponderay branch of Mountain West Bank.
“It’s one of our main fundraisers for our veteran welfare fund,” said Rich Faletto of VFW.
All proceeds will go to the VFW post to help local vets with everything from rent, groceries, and snowplowing to firewood, gasoline, utilities and dental care.
The bars, which were made by Sandpoint Chocolate Bear, sell for $3 apiece.
“It stays in Bonner County,” Faletto said of the effort.
