INITIATIVE: Tell it like it is

So much misinformation, so little time.

Regarding Invest in Idaho article began with a quote from Mr. Mayville that the initiative was “…not a tax on those who have more money.” Mr. Mayville tells us this “not a tax” cost will fall on couples making more than $500,000 per year. Sounds like a tax. Then he tells us the corporate tax rate is not raised but “restored.” When a tax is changed from one level to a higher level, it is raised. Raising a tax on one will eventually be a tax on everyone.

Like all progressives, Mr. Mayville will throw money at an issue rather than identifying the problem. Throwing money at a problem before identifying what the problem is is a great way to waste money. The Press told us about Mr. Mayville’s association with RECLAIM, a measure promoted to help health care, which grows bureaucracy and insurance, and does not improve health care.

For those advocating socialism, examine North Korea and Venezuela as examples of how it works. Note North Korea had the population, the natural resources and farmable land when the two countries were divided.

Most will reference the Scandanavian countries as their example and ignore high alcoholism rates, and high suicide rates. The countries have small populations and represent models for comparisons.

To see how the U.S. would handle it, look at the VA medical system. There is no choice and you get who you get for a doctor. For emergencies, you are referred to the private sector, which under socialism would go away.
