Knapton's late free throws lift C-Falls past Ronan, 57-55

COLUMBIA FALLS — Allec Knapton hit two free throws with three seconds left and had a double-double, lifting the Columbia Falls Wildcats over the Ronan Chiefs at Columbia Falls High School on Tuesday in Northwest A basketball.
The score was tied 57-57 before Knapton, who scored 14 points and had a career-high 15 rebounds, stepped to the line. Ronan fought back to tie the game with 16 seconds left.
Columbia Falls’s biggest lead was 12.
The win moved the Wildcats (4-13 overall, 306 conference) into fourth place in the Northwest A and helped the cause to potentially host the divisional play-in game, which is Monday, Feb. 24.
Trey Don’t Mix led Ronan (7-11, 2-8) with 18 points. Elijah Tonasket and Zarec Couture added 12.

RONAN — Hannah Schweikert scored 25 points and the Columbia Falls Wildkats beat the Ronan Maidens in a Northwest A game.
Josie Windauer added 18.
The Wildkats led 33-23 at the half and outscored Ronan 26-18 in the remaining quarters.
For Ronan, Regan Clairmont scored 13 and Kiauna DeRoche added 10 points.
Columbia Falls (15-2 overall, 7-2 conference) sit in second place in Northwest A, behind Browning.
Ronan is 10-8 and 6-4.
Northwest A divisional play begins next week with the play-in game on Monday, Feb. 24. The top four seeded teams go to the state tournament.
