Quincy Police Department is seeking information regarding a drive-by shooting Sunday night in the area of Third Avenue Southwest and R Street Southwest, as well as the 600 block of F Street Southwest.

Officers responded to reports of several shots fired from a vehicle as it pursued another vehicle, according to police, and located shell casings at both locations.

After an initial search for both vehicles involved, officers were contacted by the victim, who had several bullet holes in his vehicle but was uninjured.

The victim reportedly told police that he noticed an older white Chevy truck following him as he was driving home and became concerned. The occupants of the truck fired at him before speeding away, he told police.

The victim told police he had been an active gang member years ago and felt that was the reason he was targeted, police officials wrote in a social media post.

Members of the public with information are asked to contact law enforcement at 509-762-1160 or 509-787-1160.
