PRIEST RIVER — Charges against a man implicated in shooting at a Spokane apartment have been dropped, according to the Spokane Police Department.

Trey S. Galloway was facing two counts of first-degree assault in connection with the Feb. 4 shooting. He was arrested at a Priest River residence the following day by SPD’s Patrol Anti-Crime Team, Special Investigative Unit and the U.S. Marshal’s Service, with assistance from the Priest River Police Department and the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office.

Galloway, 19, was arrested without incident when he exited the residence. He was booked into the Bonner County Jail on a fugitive charge and was to be extradited to Spokane on the felony assault charges.

A search of the Idaho residence yielded no evidence.

Spokane detectives subsequently interviewed one of the shooting victims and submitted paperwork to the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office to drop the charges on Galloway.

“The investigation is ongoing and charges could be filed at a later date,” Spokane Police said in a news release.

The case against Galloway, however, was closed on Feb. 12, according to Spokane County District Court records.

Spokane Police received a 911 call on Feb. 4 from a person inside an apartment at 500 South Division Street. The caller reported that he and another person had been shot inside the dwelling.

“Officers arrived on scene and located two males, with obvious injuries, inside the apartment. The officers began first aid/lifesaving treatment to both subjects,” Spokane Police said in a news release.

Medical care was transferred to the Spokane Fire Department and American Medical Response.

Both injured people were transported to an area hospital.
