Coastal Carolina wallop Troy, 90-60, keep tourney hope alive

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Tommy Burton and DeVante' Jones scored 16 points apiece as Coastal Carolina easily defeated Troy 90-60 on Thursday night. Garrick Green added 14 points, Tim Ceaser scored 11 and Malik LeGania had 10 for the Chanticleers. Jones also had eight rebounds and eight assists.

Coastal Carolina (14-14, 7-10 Sun Belt Conference) posted a season-high 25 assists.

Ty Gordon had 15 points for the Trojans (9-19, 5-12), who have now lost four straight games. Nick Stampley added 14 points.

With three games left in the regular season, Coastal Carolina entered the game in ninth place in the Sun Belt Conference, with the top 10 teams advancing to the conference tournament. Troy, which has gone 2-9 in its last 11 games, came into the contest in 11th place.

The Chanticleers leveled the season series against the Trojans with the win. Troy defeated Coastal Carolina 77-59 on Dec. 19. Coastal Carolina faces South Alabama in its final regular season home game on Saturday. Troy takes on Appalachian State on the road on Saturday.
