SANDPOINT — The community is invited to join the city of Sandpoint and its consultants next week for a joint workshop regarding the Comprehensive Plan update and Multimodal Transportation Master Plan.

These plans are intended to be community-driven, guiding the future of transportation, housing, economic growth, community character and more in Sandpoint.

The Comprehensive Plan, which is required by law, also serves as a 20-year vision for the city. The city recently contracted with Logan Simpson Design to update the plan, which has not been overhauled since 2009. The Multimodal Transportation Master Plan will look at all ways people travel in the City, including walking, biking, cars, buses and more.

The workshops will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25, with two times available: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or 5:30-7 p.m. The workshops will be held in council chambers at Sandpoint City Hall, 1123 Lake St.

There will also be an informational tent set up during the K9 Keg Pull from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. today, Feb. 23, which will be held on Cedar Street between Second and Third avenues. Anyone heading up to Schweitzer Mountain Resort on Wednesday, Feb. 26, can look for the multimodal information tent in the Schweitzer Village as well.
