MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake maintenance workers were scrambled to the corner of Westshore Drive Northeast and Montana Street after a water main broke Monday morning.

The break appeared to have been caused by a broken fire hydrant, creating a lot of mud but not causing substantial damage to the asphalt, according to city officials. Streets remained open throughout the day, with some minor congestion as a backhoe and street sweeper cleaned up the damage.

City officials did not provide an estimate on when repairs would be complete. For updates, contact Municipal Services Director Fred Snoderly at 509-764-3783.
