OTHELLO — More than 100 high schoolers associated with the FFA traveled from across the region to Othello, shotguns in tow, for an annual trap shoot on Feb. 22.

In all, 109 students from a number of high school teams — some schools have multiple teams — gathered to try to shoot down 50 clay pigeons, half from 16 yards away and half at 27 yards.

Colville High School Squad No. 1 took the top score, with 139 out of 150. Freeman High School took second, with 137 out of 150, while Kettle Falls netted third with 129 out of 150.

Local teams came in close behind. Moses Lake High School’s Squad No. 1 scored 125 points, while Othello High School scored 114. Warden came in further behind at 85 out of 150.
