The 5-foot-9 senior guard hit a game-tying 3-pointer with 53 seconds left, then did it again at the overtime buzzer for the Tigers in Thursday’s 45-40 2OT win over Sugar-Salem in the opening round of the state 3A girls basketball tournament. Timberlake went on to win the state title. “Those were excellent because she had a really rough first half,” Timberlake coach Matt Miller said of Suko’s shots. “She wasn’t playing a good game by her standards. But she put the team first, kept grinding and shot with some confidence regardless of what the score was.”
