Henry Anders, 94
Henry F. Anders, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at the age of 94. Henry was born in Bronson, Iowa, in 1925 and raised in Sioux City, where he met and married his late wife, June (Gunn) Anders. Henry and June retired to Coeur d’Alene in 1976.
A World War II veteran, Henry served as an anti-tank, non-commissioned officer in the 100th Infantry Division, also known as the Sons of Bitche. He was awarded two Bronze Stars with a “V” device for his combat heroism.
An avid fisherman, Henry spent much of his earlier years boating on Lake Coeur d’Alene. When not on the water, he enjoyed the company of his friends and neighbors.
Henry is survived by his son, Dennis Anders of Medford, N.J. and his granddaughters Dana Anders and Lauren (Ryan) Cassidy.
