Kick off the New Year right and join 7B Women at their luncheon on Tuesday, January 14 as they welcome Alison Henslee who will discuss the Art of Reinventing Oneself.

Alison moved to North Idaho from California at the age of 5 when her family moved to Bonners Ferry. Aside from brief stints in Sandpoint and Eastern Montana, she has called Bonners Ferry home for most of her 55 years.

Her life journey has been an adventure with some interesting plot twists along the way. She’s been religious, not religious, married, not married, mom, grandma, employee, employer and more, and she carries badges from the many schools of life that she’s learned from along the way.

Alison has two adult children and says her favorite thing presently is being the best Nana she can for her granddaughter. When not working at one of her many jobs, Alison enjoys spending time with family and friends, making more friends, art, teaching art, baking, eating good food, sipping good wine, listening to good music and spending time in her home or anywhere she can with all the above.

Her jobs include working as a sales and marketing director for Like Media where she pours her heart into Bonners Ferry Living Local contributing in a multitude of ways including sales, photography and writing.

Alison also owns Creative Soul Collective where she leads painting classes and creative workshops...think paint-n-sip with a twist, and also started two other businesses including Summit Business Coaching, a social media and marketing guiding service, as well as The Growing Place, a blog that is evolving into a motivational group that includes personal coaching and speaking

With 24 jobs in her lifetime, two businesses started and finished, and three more growing, it’s safe to say she’s the queen of multi-tasking and serial entrepreneurship, with a dash of crazy!

The Art of Reinventing Yourself is her story of overcoming obstacles and inadequacies on her self-imposed quest to create a life that finally, actually fits and to inspire others to do the same.

The 7B Women’s January luncheon will take place on Tuesday, January 14 from 11:45am to 1pm at Tango Café and is open to everyone in the community. The cost is $21 or $16 if you are a member of 7B Women, Inc. Individual memberships cost $50 per year and can be paid online at the group’s website, www.7BWomen.com.

Please note that due to the high participation in the past and so Tango Café can adequately prepare for the luncheon, pre-registration is highly encouraged.

Register online at 7BWomen.com and you can also purchase your raffle tickets ahead of time to avoid standing in line at check in and optimizing your networking time. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5.

Clines giving talk on endearing relationships

With February upon us, thoughts turn to Valentine’s Day. Whether you love it or dread it, it is a time to reflect and focus on nurturing the relationships in our lives. Over the years, many of us here in Sandpoint have turned to world renowned psychiatrist and author Foster Cline to guide us through those complicated moments. Whether it is a relationship with a child or a spouse, Dr. Cline has provided us with thoughtful advice through his books and countless local speaking engagements.
