Iron Pizza Co. & Taphouse opens on Best Avenue
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 6 years, 8 months AGO
With a special menu and an in-the-woods decor, Iron Pizza Co. & Taphouse has opened in Suite 104 in the east end of the strip of businesses at 405 E. Best Ave. (northeast of Fourth and Appleway).
Keith Boe and Matt Johnson offer chef-driven pizzas with dine-in, carry-out and take-and-bake options. Also on the menu are gourmet deli sandwiches, soups and artisan salads. Options include gluten-free, vegan, cauliflower crusts with garlic confit herb-smothered crusts. Beverages include tap and can beers and soft drinks with wines coming.
With works from local artists and sculpture, the interior has a Blue River Bar under a 26-foot canoe, an artisan-crafted full-size aspen tree, mechanical fish, steam-punk whimsical violins and a hunting rifle made from old musical instruments — all under stars, clouds and a hand-blown multi-colored glass chandelier. Some of the art is for sale to help support local artists and from Boe’s collection. Opening at 4 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. weekends at first, daily hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
