The Post Falls City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a land swap between the city and the Post Falls School District.
The city of Post Falls exchanged a 70-acre parcel south of Hayden Avenue and east of Chase Road for an approximately 80-acre parcel owned by the Post Falls School District located south of Hayden Avenue and west of Greensferry Road.
Mayor Ron Jacobson said the swap makes sense for both the city of Post Falls and the school district. The city now has contiguous property for land application of recycled water for its long-term water reclamation plan.
“I’m very excited by the opportunity to acquire some land that is better suited for a new school,” Post Falls School District Superintendent Jerry Keane said. “The land is better situated to utilities and will help us take care of our future students.
An ordinance approving a real estate exchange agreement will occur at the next City Council meeting in two weeks.
