CLARK FORK — Despite getting a combined 35 points from senior Charlie Abbott and junior Cameron Garcia, the Wampus Cats lost to Kellogg JV 57-52 on Thursday night.

Things started well for Clark Fork who took a 21-10 lead after the first quarter. Unfortunately, the Wildcats took over after that outscoring the Wampus Cats 47-31 in the final three quarters to steal the win and avoid being swept in the season series.

Assistant coach Stillman Berkley, who served as the head coach in the game, said his team just fell short but he thought Abbott shot the ball really well.

“We came out strong but couldn’t hold on until the end,” he wrote in a text. “Little mistakes lost it for us.”

The Wampus Cats (2-7) play Post Falls C 7 p.m. tonight.
