Whitefish Christian Academy has received a $100,000 grant from the Whitefish Masonic Lodge No. 64.

A press release issued Tuesday by the Masons and the school said the financial gift was given because of the “uncompromising education standards” the Christian school has established, and for “exceptional staff who work tirelessly to educate the students.”

“The academy teachers are grounded in Christian excellence and dedicated to the intellectual and social growth of every child in the school,” said James Blystone of the Whitefish Masonic Lodge. “We have the opportunity to help students and this school right here in our community. Support of this classical education that produces critical thinkers, coherent writers, confident communicators, thoughtful leaders, and productive citizens in our community is so worthwhile and deserving.”

Whitefish Christian Academy Headmaster Hal Brunson said the grant will help to ensure school programs continue to grow with the necessary resources for both students and staff.

“We are grateful the Whitefish Masons understand the value of classical education in our community, and we appreciate their financial commitment to the academy,” Brunson said in a prepared statement.

Whitefish Christian Academy was founded in 1979. The history of Whitefish Masonic Lodge No. 64 goes back much further, to 1906 when the lodge was chartered.
