MOSES LAKE – A Moses Lake woman was arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of agreeing to sell sex to a man and participating in robbing him at gunpoint with the aid of three other men.

Menika Rae Clemens, 30, was booked on charges of first-degree robbery and second-degree theft, as well as on an outstanding warrant for probation violations stemming from a previous witness-tampering conviction.

Officers were called to the 500 block of North Grape Drive after the victim reported being robbed at gunpoint. The victim told police that he had solicited sex from Clemens and arranged to pick her up and drive her to an apartment building.

After about 15 minutes, three men entered the apartment building and began to assault the victim, according to testimony to police. The victim told police that he was assaulted by one man with a stick and another with fists, while the third man pointed a gun at him.

During the assault, Clemens and one of the men reportedly began to steal cash, identification and other miscellaneous belongings of the victim’s. The assailants reportedly threatened to shoot the victim if he followed them, and then fled the scene.

Clemens was promptly arrested and booked into jail by 3 a.m. Monday morning and will be arraigned Tuesday. Due to the lateness of the arrest, it was not immediately clear Monday whether the other alleged assailants had been identified, according to police officials.
