There will be a race in House District 3 this coming election. Braxton Mitchell, 19, has announced he will run for the position as a Republican.
Mitchell describes himself as a capitalist who believes in the free market system. He has organized pro-gun rallies in the Flathead, including one when he was in high school (known then as Braxton Shewalter) and another in Kalispell.
“The rise of socialism brewing in America is an absolutely terrifying thought, and I will always stand against the rise of socialism in America. America will never be a socialist country,” he said in his campaign announcement.
