The Mission Bulldogs picked up two convincing wins this past week.

At home against the visiting Rams of Loyola, the host Bulldogs extracted a bit of revenge for their challenge game loss to Loyola last season in the Western B challenge game. Both teams featured vastly different personell, but that didn’t detract from the sweet taste of victory.

Zoran LaFrombois and Isaiah Nasewytewa combined for more than 30 points to offset the top two leading scorers for Loyla, while the rest of the Bulldog roster did the rest to ensure that a Ram rally was held at bay.

The Dawgs went bird hunting last Thursday as they jumped out to a double digit advantage during first frame action, then maintained the margin with a tandem of tallies among the twenties during the second half. Jedi Christy tied for game high scoring honors with his Bluehawk counterpart, while Zoran LaFrombois and Davien Adams almost collaborated on as many.

The win was crucial for stratification among the conference standings as Mission squared their 7B record.

The Bulldogs have a round of Rez roundball rivalry wrangles this weekend, traveling to Ronan on Friday, then hosting Arlee on Saturday.

Pirate plaque preference Burger-larized by Bulldogs

At Smith Fields in Whitefish for the 2018 State A boys soccer championship, the Polson Pirates and the Northern A conference champion Bulldogs would put on quite a show in an energetic quest to claim the coveted state A crown last Saturday. This would be just the third foray to the championship match in the history of the Pirate boys’ soccer program, who hoped that the idiomatic expression “third time’s a charm” would play out in Polson’s favor.
