Wednesday, Jan. 15 STAYED: Latest execution scheduled after federal govt resumed capital punishment after nearly 20 years - STAYED DUE TO ONGOING LAWSUIT: Execution scheduled for Dustin Lee Honken, who shot and killed two men who planned to testify against him, plus a single mother and her 10-year-old and six-year-old daughters. He was found guilty of a number of offenses in 2004, including five counts of murder during the course of a continuing criminal enterprise, and was sentenced to death. The execution represents one of the first by the federal govt in nearly 20 years, after the Department of Justice announced in July that the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) was adopting an addendum to the Federal Execution Protocol to replace the previously-used three-drug procedure with pentobarbital, which is used in 14 states and has been cleared as constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court * Last of five executions announced by the DoJ in July
