Neighbors in an apartment complex north of Mill River told police they were tired of the drug deals, the sellers and buyers, so they helped officers obtain a search warrant that snagged a 23-year-old Coeur d’Alene man who is accused of selling heroin.

Lonnie A. B. Kohrdt is in the Kootenai County jail facing one count each of trafficking heroin and having drugs with the intention of selling them.

A Coeur d’Alene judge Thursday set bail at $75,000 and ordered a probable cause hearing within 14 days if Kohrdt stays in jail, or within 21 days if he posts bail.

Neighbors on the 4500 block of west Idlewild Loop told officers that they had seen drugs and paraphernalia at the apartment where Kohrdt was arrested Tuesday morning, and police collected complaints of what appeared to be drug-related activity from neighbors.

When officers served a warrant around 6 a.m., the apartment came alive as several occupants scurried around the apartment and Kohrdt dashed from a bedroom where police say they found more than a half ounce of meth and seven grams of black tar heroin, reports indicate.

Police also found a scale in the room and packaging materials, according to court records.

Three roommates in the apartment told police they had warned Kohrdt against selling drugs, but he continued, according to a report.

Kohrdt has been convicted of two prior felonies including possession of a controlled substance and burglary, according to prosecutors.

The mandatory sentence for trafficking between two and seven grains of heroin is three years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
