Wrestling crushed by Lakeland

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint wrestling Sandpoint was unable to avenge last years blowout loss to Lakeland, falling 59-19.
Things didn’t start well for the Bulldogs as they lost the first two matches via pin, but a 9-5 win by Forest Ambridge at 98 pounds and pins by Tanner Dickson at 113 and Jordan Birkhimer helped Sandpoint pull the score to 18-15.
But from there the Hawks took control earning five wins by pin and only allowing the Bulldogs to score 10 points the rest of the way.
“Our lightweights pulled their weight,” head coach Jake Stark said. “I really worked them a lot to step it up and they did. In the middleweights, especially with some of our seniors, I think we could have brought the fight to them a little more but overall I’m happy.” The Bulldogs head to the Timberlake duals today.
