Guess, Pryor lead Cardinals past Columbia Basin

PASCO, Wash. — North Idaho College starters Christian Guess and Nate Pryor scored more than half of their team’s points, helping the visiting Cardinals expand on a two-point halftime lead en route to a 96-87 win at Columbia Basin on Monday afternoon.
The Cardinals shot 40-for-67 (59.7 percent) from the floor and had 14 steals to pull away from the Hawks (6-12, 1-5 Northwest Athletic Conference). Guess led the way with 27 points and nine rebounds for NIC, while Pryor had 22 points and a team-best six steals.
Sergio Pineda led Columbia Basin with 16 points.
Former Coeur d’Alene High standout Joey Naccarato scored eight points for NIC (18-1, 6-0), which hosts Spokane on Wednesday.

PASCO, Wash. — Anna Schrade and Alex Carlton scored 13 points each to lead the visiting Cardinals to their third straight win.
NIC (10-7, 4-2 NWAC) outscored the Hawks 14-9 in the second quarter to open up a five-point halftime lead, and shot 17-for-20 from the free-throw line to hold off Columbia Basin.
Ali Martineau scored 12 points to lead Columbia Basin (5-13, 2-4) while Sami Sanders added 11 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts.
Rilee Mangun tallied 10 points off the bench for the Cardinals, who host Spokane on Wednesday.
