Two days, two games, two routs.

It was a good week for the Plains Horsemen boys basketball team.

Friday night they capped a successful week’s work with a convincing 59-18 win over Noxon on the Red Devils’ home court.

The outcome of this one was not in doubt as the Horsemen exploded out of the gate and raced to an early 17-2 lead after one quarter. By halftime Plains ran the lead to 32-8 behind a swarming defense and dominance of the backboards.

It was more of the same in quarter number three with the Horsemen continuing to stymie Noxon’s offense while outscoring the Red Devils 15-4. Heading into the final quarter it was 47-12 and reserves got some solid playing time the rest of the way.

Senior guard Treydon Brouillette scored a game high 20 points and was joined in double-figure scoring by 6-1 junior Nathan Feliksa who had 16 points and 6-2 junior Kade Pardee with 11 tallies.

Noxon’s 6-5 post Rylan Weltz led the Red Devils with 10.

The Horsemen kicked off their week with a 70-42 win over Two Eagle River at the Plains gym Thursday evening.

As was the case with Thursday night’s win, the Horsemen rolled to an early 19-12 lead after the first quarter and had built it to a 39-23 advantage by halftime.

They would continue to outscore the Eagles 20-10 in the third quarter on their way to their ninth win of the season.

Four players scored in double figures for the Horsemen, paced by senior guard Jake Weyers’ 17 points. Pardee pitched in 15, 6-4 Parker Flock accounted for 12 points and Brouillette added 10 for the Horsemen.

The win improved Plains to 9-1 for the year while Two Eagle River remained winless.

This week Plains hosts Charlo Thursday followed by a road game against Troy Saturday evening.
