Lakeside beats Genesis Prep for first time since '17

PLUMMER — Ashlee Holt hit 6 of 10 from the 3-point line and finished with 18 points as the Lakeside Knights beat the visiting Genesis Prep Jaguars 77-27 in a nonleague game at Ron Miller Court on Tuesday.

It was Lakeside’s first win over Genesis Prep since Jan. 31, 2017, when the Knights capped an unbeaten regular season. Genesis Prep upset Lakeside in the 1A Division II District 1 championship game two weeks later, and had won seven straight games.

“It was a good team win,” said Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman, whose team finished 20 of 40 from the field. “It’s been a while since we’ve beaten Genesis Prep. We’ve had some good battles with them. It’s been a fun matchup.”

Jolissa Holt scored 12 points, Samantha Adrian and Kria Peters 10 each for Lakeside (10-3, 6-0 NSL), which travels to Clark Fork tonight at 6:30.

Sarah Bohannan scored nine points for Genesis Prep (0-12), which hosts Wallace on Thursday at The Courts at Real Life Ministries.

HARRISON FLATS — Talowa Fallingwater had 27 points, nine rebounds and five steals for the Tigers in a North Star League win over the Warriors.

Emily Dykes had seven points, seven assists and four steals and Sairah Haig five steals for Mullan (3-9, 1-5 NSL), which hosts North Idaho Christian on Friday at the Mullan Pavilion.

Jacey Grange had 13 points and six rebounds for Kootenai (0-6, 0-3), which travels to the St. Maries JV on Thursday.

“Jacey had a good game for us tonight,” Kootenai coach Doug Napierala said.

SPOKANE — Imelda Bresee had 20 points, 18 rebounds and six steals for the Royals in a Mountain Christian League win over the Warriors at the Spokane Fitness Center.

Grace Gwin scored 16 points and Kate Malinauskas added 14 points for North Idaho Christian (15-5), which travels to Mullan on Friday.

Kaitlyn Gibson scored 17 points for Covenant Christian.
