Swimmers compete in Butte

The Columbia Falls swim teams competed in Butte over the weekend, with the girls team taking 10th and the boys team taking seventh.

The Wildcats were eighth in combined score.

Emerald Templin took third place in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:31.53; Conner Cheff took third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.82;, and the boys took second in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:50.71.

The Cats next compete in the state tourney Feb. 14.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
