CLARK FORK — In their first game in two weeks, the Wampus Cats nearly edged out Bonners Ferry on Thursday night, losing 55-49.

Clark Fork only trailed by 1 point at halftime, but the Wampus Cats were unable to keep with Bonners Ferry down the stretch.

“We started off the game slow but we picked it up in the second quarter,” head coach Heath Beason wrote in an email. “The second half of the game the kids started coming together and started playing really good but it was a little too late. They pressed us all game and we did a good job breaking it but turnovers got us. We just didn’t get the job done.

Senior Josh Constantin led the team with 19 points while sophomore Carter Sanroman added 12.

Clark Fork (2-8) heads to Noxon 5:30 p.m. tonight.
