Marian A. Rasmussen, 90

Marian A. Rasmussen, 90, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Dec. 25, 2019, at her family home in Athol, Idaho. She was born on March 23, 1929, to Herbert S. Wright Sr. and Myrtle (Caldwell) Wright, in Troy, Idaho. Later, they moved to the Silver Valley in Idaho and then to the Walla Walla area of Washington state. While there, she graduated from high school and met her husband, Albert H. Rasmussen. They were married Sept. 15, 1952, in Dixie, Wash. Later, they moved to Empire, Ore. They had four children: Ron, Thor, Myrtle Marian (Sis), and Mike. In 1970 the family moved to Athol.

Marian was a homemaker and also worked outside of the home, where she worked as a florist, a cashier, a cook for Alpha Gamma Rho in Pullman, Washington, and in home health care in the Athol area. Marian enjoyed being creative; she loved making things for others and all of her grandchildren. She spent many hours sewing, knitting and crocheting items to give away. Marian was active with the local

senior group in Athol for many years.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Myrtle Wright; her baby sister; her brother, Herbert S. Wright Jr. (2009); her sister, Lilian Graham (2017); her husband, Albert H. Rasmussen (1995); her sons Ron Rasmussen (2018) and Thor Rasmussen (1989) and her daughter, Myrtle Marian (Sis) Rasmussen Wright (1989). She is survived by her son, Michael “Mike” Rasmussen and his wife, Jo-Ann Rasmussen of Athol; daughter-in-law, Ruth Rasmussen (Ron’s widow) of Dexter, Ore.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Marian’s celebration of life will take place at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020. You may come and visit with Marian one hour before the service if you wish. The family will meet at the American Legion in Athol after the service for a luncheon.

Family and friends are welcome to come, visit and enjoy.
