MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake girls basketball took over sole possession of first place in the Columbia Basin Big Nine after beating Sunnyside 65-43.
The Chiefs had been trailing the Grizzlies by one game in the league standings since a road loss on Dec. 20. The presumption was the Chiefs would be playing for a chance to tie the Grizzlies for first place, however, West Valley pulled off an upset the night before to hand Sunnyside its first league loss.
